SUBJECT: Q 602 defect

Objective
Please modify if following symptom occurs

Symptom
TV does not work due to Q602 broke down

Cause
Hor. Transistor Driving Condition during switching ON/OFF.

Countermeasures
After changing the defected Q602.
In order to improve Q602 resistant to sparks, modify the chassis as given below.

Solder RES CF 1/4W 10K J BETWEEN BASE AND COLLECTOR OF Q601 (Hor.driver Transistor).

SUBJECT: IC 800 defect

Objective
Please modify if following symptom occurs

Symptom
TV does not work due to IC800 breaking down

Cause
Spikes on main power affects and disturbs IC800.

Countermeasures
After changing the defected IC800.
In order to improve IC 800 resistant to spikes, modify the chassis as given below.
Replace,

R801 RES CF 1/4W 1K J ==> RES CF 1/4W 4.7K J
C860 CAP CER 100NF 100V ==> CAP MKT 47NF 250V J .

SUBJECT: IC 601 defect

Objective
Please modify if following symptom occurs

Symptom
TV does not work due to IC601 broke down

Cause
Spark on CRT

Countermeasures
After changing the defected IC601,
In order to improve IC601 resistant to sparks on CRT, modify the chassis as given below.

Modify 11AK37-5, AK37-6 or AK37-7 chassis by insertion Zener diode 5.1V (VE-30007763) between pin 1 of IC601 and ground as explain below.

Solder the cathode of Zener diode 5.1V to pin 1 of IC601; solder the anode of Zener diode 5.1V to Ground.
Insert the second zener diode 5.1V (VE-30007763) between pin 3 of IC601 and ground as explain below.
Solder the cathode of Zener diode 5.1V to pin 3 of IC601; solder the anode of Zener diode 5.1V to Ground.
Insert the zener diode 12V (VE-30001350) between pin 5 of IC601 and ground as explained below.
Solder the cathode of Zener diode 12V to pin 5 of IC601; solder the anode of Zener diode 12V to Ground.
Cut the trace between the emitter of Q603 and R606 then insert a RES CF 1/4W 560R between the emitter of Q603 and R606.

SUBJECT: C622 defect

TV does not work due to C622 short circuit.

Cause
EW transistor driving condition during start-up.

Countermeasures
After changing the defected C622,
In order to improve EW transistor driving during start-up, modify the chassis according to CRT size as given below.

Remove R689 and R697:

For 28 inch 16:9, 32 inch 16:9 models and 29 inch RF, 32 inch RF models, 29 inch 4:3 and 33 inch 4:3 models:

Insert:

R697: ----- ( RES CF 1/4W 270R J

For 28 inch 4:3 and 25 inch 4:3 models:

Insert:
